Saggy Pants Ban: A Moneymaker for Georgia
Albany, Georgia may be one of the only cities in the world where sagging pants are illegal, but a few other cities may soon follow. Since instituting the ban of wearing pants or skirts more than three inches under the hips last year on November 23, 187 citations have been issued. The citations have brought in $3,916.49 for the city and an expected $1,500 USD by the end of the year. Fines range from $25 to $200, notes the Albany Herald.
“We’ve gotten several complaints from citizens saying the folks with britches down below their buttocks was offensive, and wasn’t there something we could do about it… we’d (rather) not fine anybody but we are prepared to.”- Dublin, Georgia Mayor, Phil Best
Apparently this will put the fashion trend in the same category as masturbation, fornication and urination in public places. Guess homies are going to have to find new means of self-expression…
