According to the UN Population Fund, Earth’s 7 billionth human being will arrive this year by October 31st. This important milestone shouldn’t be putting a kink in most American’s Trick-or-Treating plans– there will still be enough candy to go around, but not for long. “For the rich, it’s totally manageable,” the researcher continues. “It’s the poor, everywhere, who will be hurt the most.” a researcher tells the Globe and Mail. Inflation costs of vital resources including energy and food will cause stress to the environment and increase levels of malnourishment. “There are 215 million women worldwide who need family planning and don’t get it,” he says. “If we can change that, and these women can take charge of their lives, we’ll have a better world.”
