Winters Biggest Beauty Mistakes
During the colder winter months, it’s easy to want to hibernate and let some key personal grooming habits fall to the wayside. DON’T! Some bad winter habits die-hard- we’ll point out some of the most common beauty mistakes people make when it starts getting chilly out.
Hogging The Shower

Taking a nice, long, hot shower or bath might be soothing to your soul, but wreaks havoc on your skin. The hot water strips your body of its essential oils. Try taking shorter showers during the colder months with lukewarm water. Try using a moisturizing unscented soap with a soft washcloth in order to protect your skin.
Over-using Astringents and Toners
Toner is great for refreshing and restoring PH balance occasionally. Astringents which clean and cool skin also strip your face of natural oils-and guess what? Over-drying freaks out your skin and makes it produce more oils- causing irritation, acne and milia. Avoid alcohol-based facial products whenever possible (Ladies, that includes perfumed body sprays!)
Skipping Sunblock
Besides evening your skin tone and reducing the formation of fine lines and wrinkles, sunscreen prevents skin cancer- so don’t leave the house with anything less than SPF15 on your face- rain or shine!
Moisturize…The Air!
Running the heat in your car, home, and office will dry your skin out. Get a humidifier to add moisture to your hair, skin and nails- you’ll breathe better too!
Moisturize …Your Skin!
Not just your mug- cuticles, feet, elbows, knees and your neck all need some love too!
Exercise!
No excuses. Exercise boosts your circulation, tones your muscles, keeps you mentally alert, turns your skin cells over faster, burns calories and makes your body function more optimally. You’ll sleep better, and look better–what’s the downside?
