Are you dreaming of a White Christmas this year? If you love to decorate the house with inviting brights, try accenting with a mod metallic silver and a few hues of blue.
My friends and I like participating in a tradition that we’ve affectionately dubbed “Crappy Christmas.” Basically, we dress up in the ugliest, most unfortunate Christmas sweaters and costumes that we can find, and throw a ridiculous party. Last year, one of my girlfriends wore a jewel toned Christmas brooch, and while I think its a little silly to wear as an accessory, I think a jewel themed Christmas tree would be really pretty!
If you’re like many people this holiday season – you have a lot of room in your heart for Christmas cheer, but unfortunately, not very much room in your living room. That’s okay! I’m right there with you. This December, I will more than likely have a tiny little Charlie Brown-esque tree, with one or two ornaments. A little something is better than nothing!
The dorm I was living in during my first semester of college didn’t allow Christmas trees, (because they RA’s were a bunch of Grinch’s) but my roommate’s joyful spirit could not be contained! She came up with the cutest way to decorate one of our walls with a tree shaped collage filled with our favorite words and trinkets. It was one of the best Christmas trees I’ve ever had!
This might be a little ambitious for most folks, but if you are a seriously committed girlfriend, fiance, or wife… your male counterpart will surely love you forever if you surprised him with this electronic PacMan tree! I’m even pretty tempted to give it a try…
Frosty The Snow Tree
Here’s another miniature Christmas tree option for you spirited decorators living in a cramped space. You can find all the materials for this Frosty Snow Tree at your local craftstore! All you need is white spray paint, a miniature tree, a round styrofoam ball, a felt tip pen, and any decorations you want to embellish him with!
Cookie Monster’s Delight
Last, but not least, is my favorite of the creative Christmas tree options. Nothing brings a smile to my face faster than holiday themed cookies! These cute Christmas trees are made by stacking star shaped sugar cookies topped with green icing on top of each other with colorful candies sprinkled on as ornaments! Forget leaving a plate of cookies for Santa, this cookie tree isn’t going to make it to December 25th if I have anything to say about it.
