Winter Kate’s Spring 2012 Lookbook

Winter Kate, the line owned and designed by Nicole Richie has been such a huge success. Her boho-chic style has translated very well into this line which has been the key factor to her success. Every woman wants that effortlessly chic look that Nicole owns so well, plus the comfort level that comes along with it. Who is to say that fashion is all about harsh lines and strictly slim-fitting tailoring? What happened to the loose-fitting comfortable clothing we loved in the 90s?
For this Spring 2012 collection, Nicole Richie was highly inspired by the mystical city of Rajastan, India. Nicole incorporates bold colors such as saffron, burnt ochre, peacock blue and amaranth to echo the exotic charm of the subcontinent, while continuing to stay true to her signature boho-chic style. Her collection consists of delicate silk embroidered bed jackets to frocks to tops. Each piece from her collection brings to life the intricacy and detail of the local handicrafts and provides a hand-worked feel, which is juxtaposing the the minimalist pieces with a hint of the Far East influence seen throughout. The lookbook is beautifully shot, and took place in the desert of California. These stunning images were taken by famed photographer Alan Silfen, who is Lionel Richie’s go-to photographer. The looks for this collection were styled by Nicole’s long-time friend and stylist Samantha Traina. She definitely did a good job, especially with the use of jewelry. The jewelry ranged from delicate headpieces to extravagant cuffs and bracelets. If you want to cop yourself a piece from this collection, then head on over to Shopbop.com or Singer22.com.
