Shoe Fashion From Hong Kong Fashion Week
On Tuesday, January 17, 2012, Hong Kong Fashion Week hosted their 12th annual Footwear Design Competition. On the scale of 1 to outrageous, this years’ submissions were a definite “10.”
Anytime you combine the words “Footwear Design” and “Competition,” things are bound to get crazy. This year was no exception as designers racked their brains–dreaming up the most insane designs I have ever seen!
After the dust settled, there were five pairs of extreme footwear remaining. Would you wear any of these crazy fashions?

Sky high heels + deck-of-cards motif + a touch of lace + a splash of yellow = ???
I’m not sure I would ever wear these super busy shoes on my feet, but I bet a pair of them would look quite nice on my mantlepiece.

Oh my! Wooden platforms plus a laser-cut leather overlay and not one, not two, but three heels? This architectually sound shoe is a thing of beauty.

Finally! Decorative eggs and decorative shoes unite in fashionable perfection! This crystal-encrusted platform wedge has an egg designed into its dragon tail heel. You have to hand it to the Hong Kong designers for combining tradition with modern designs.

Now the term “boat shoe” has a whole new meaning. Would you take your fella out to the lake in a shoe-boat inspired vessel?

Well, if you’re brave enough to wear this fur trimmed shoe, your fancy feet will definitely be cozy and warm!
