It has been confirmed that some time back in September, clothing line Rag & Bone commissioned Thom Yorke to create some music that would accompany the runway models during a show. Now, the independent music world has something to feed off of, seeing as two of the (possibly more) songs from the fashion show have surfaced on the internet and can now be listened to via Youtube.

Both of these songs are in a sense the continuation of The Eraser, and Thom Yorke’s expansion of experimentation into electronic music. The solo work that Yorke has done apart from the backing instrumentation and writing of other Radiohead members goes more deeply into the notion of working from computers as opposed to guitars, pianos etc. As with anything that the man has touched, the music is heavily based upon rhythm and rhythmic structures, the melodies and other aspects creating an atmosphere that allows those rhythms to proceed with purpose.

The first track, titled “Stuck Together”, is completely unheard by the public ear and is a beautiful composition consisting of a characteristic driving beat, and Yorke’s trademark flux of soft falsettos and reverted utterances. Check it out below:

The second track, titled “The Twist”, which was leaked a few months back has now been updated. Instead of the electro-dance upbeat second half, the updated version brought down to a more ambient bass heavy bit which compliments the repetitive vocal part a lot better in my opinion.
