Hollywood Metro Station Offers Free Art Tours

There is something about art that inspires and fascinates us. With the Metro Art Tours available March 3, art enthusiasts can enjoy beautiful artwork in public transit for free.
The Art Tours, which habitually takes place the first Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday of every month, offers visitors the chance to view scenic work created by local artists.
According to the Metro website, the tours are given by volunteer docents—the Metro Docent Council—who provide background information on the extensive array of artwork. For instance, the docents explain the origin of each piece such as who created it and what it took to make it. They will also explain which “communities they enhance.”
Attendees will need to be present at the street level entrance to the Hollywood/Highland Metro Rail Station on Hollywood Blvd. at 10 a.m. Tour participants will be given a free ride-all-day pass by the docents. The Metro website suggests that all attendees park at the Visitors Center at the Hollywood/Highland shopping center complex so that half of the parking fee can be validated.
According to Yelp Events, participants will not only be given a pass to ride the whole Metro Rail system for free on the day of their tour date, they will also receive discounts at several restaurants located in the Hollywood and Highland Center.
Koji Sushi is offering tour participants 20% off their bill (not including alcohol); The Wine Bar Café is giving their customers a free cheese plate for four with the purchase of four drinks; and The Grill on Hollywood is offering one appetizer on the house with the purchase of an entrée. Tour participants will be asked to show their Metro Art Tours pass so be sure to hang on to it.
The Metro Art Tours will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 3. You will not need to make reservations in order to attend the event.
