Kate Upton’s Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s Commercial
Eating a hamburger has never looked so…steamy, especially when that burger is a simple Southwest Patty Melt from Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s. Still, Sports Illustrated’s 2012 Swimsuit Edition cover-girl Kate Upton manages to pull it off while taking a big, juicy bite out of the thick burger now available at both CKE-owned restaurants.
The spot starts with innocent foreplay. A demure, pony-tailed Upton sweetly plugs a fan into her convertible at a drive-in movie. She pulls the patty melt out from her non-specified Carl’s Jr. or Hardee’s bag and gives it her best bedroom eyes and seductive lip purse. She takes the first bite from her patty. It’s too much. She removes her headband. She takes her business to the backseat with a long-legged swing. She makes love to a jalapeno pepper. Sweat drips from her now-famous, perky bosom which the camera zeroes in on in a high-brow display of cinematography as she removes her sweater. She fans herself, taking another sultry bite as she pulls down her dress strap to reveal a “hint” of her bra. A boyfriend’s wandering eyes zero in, only to be batted away by his hawking girlfriend’s hand.
At this point, Kate is full-on in the heat of the moment. She straddles the burger bag, hair disheveled, as she gnaws at the bun again (it must be the spicy Santa Fe sauce). Even though she has now taken approximately four bites of the burger, it appears to remain untouched–a minor detail. The sandwich is so hot Kate has to remove a stocking and then crawl to the front seat to take a long slurp from the straw of her drink. She wipes her brow and gives the camera a dreamy gaze before pulling down her dress and throwing back her hair.
Kate must be given credit for handling such a hefty piece of meat. According to Foodbeast, the single Southwest Patty Melt weighs in at 750 calories, 54 grams of fat, and 33 grams of protein; the six dollar version garners 890 calories, 63 grams of fat, and 47 grams of protein; and the double packs 940 calories, 68 grams of fat, and 49 grams of protein (perhaps the reason the self-proclaimed “next big supermodel” seems more content to seduce her burger than eat it).
Regardless, the burger seems to get the job (well)done. And if that’s the case, I’ll have what she’s having.
