Lights! Camera! Fashion!
Well what a landslide that Oscar show was! Too bad The Artist didn’t too well— only six wins, what a shame! Let’s take a look at some of the winning looks we haven’t discussed from this evening!
Despite the fact that Giuliana Rancic was just doing her day job on the red carpet as she cohosted the Red Carpet watch on E! News, her dress was a definite showstopper! Rancic looked amazing in a Tony Ward nude chiffon mermaid style gown with detailed white beading and petal appliqué down the sides and on her shoulders, making it hard to focus on her interviewees!
Second on the list of must mentions is Mila Jovovich, who presented during the show. Jovovich showed fans her softer side tonight in a knockout all white floor length gown complete with intricate patterned beading and a structured one-shoulder detail designed by Ellie Saab, proving once again why her first career was modeling!
Although not nominated for anything tonight, Leslie Mann shined next to her husband, Judd Apatow, in a jaw dropping Roberto Cavalli gown. The tight fitting, navy blue dress with gorgeous vertical
beading and a sexy wide sash tied in a knot at her hip showed a dash of sexiness, while still keeping a classy style.
And of course, who can watch the Oscars without talking about Angelina Jolie, who wore a velvet black Versace gown with a slit in the front up to there! Despite its simple design, Jolie knew just how impressionable she was when she showed some leg while presenting an award during the show tonight. Clearly, the queen of Hollywood will keep her crown a while longer.
And while we are on the subject, we can’t talk about the 2012 Academy Awards’ fashion choices without mentioning Jennifer Lopez’s wardrobe malfunction while presenting the award for best Costume Design— ironic, right? Although the diva can pretty much rock any outfit any time, the plunging neckline on her Zuhair Murad sheer gown slightly slipped to reveal just a little too much on a live broadcast, with the same results that Janet Jackson endured during the Superbowl several years ago!
And that’s our show! The gowns, the jewels, the stars: it was a night to remember, and we’re not just talking about the dresses!
