New York’s Vegetarian Food Festival 2012

I am addicted to food festivals; but when this year’s New York Vegetarian Food Festival, happening March 3rd & 4th at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City, came my way, I hesitated.
I have to admit, although I’m not a red meat eater, I’m wondering what this festival has to offer to keep my belly satiated. So I did what any other foodie would do – research.
I found that the two-day New York Vegetarian Food Festival relies greatly on donors to make this event happen, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit “for the Animals Sanctuary.”
The organizers urge all types of food lovers to come out and enjoy the food and if nothing more, learn about living a more healthy and sustainable life.
Vegetarian food companies, restaurants, and health and wellness vendors will come together in this celebration of all things cruelty-free.
The festival will feature live entertainment, tons of activities, cooking demos, dance classes, and lots of information surrounding vegetarianism, as well as animal welfare.
For a $5 ticket, this sounds like a lovely way to spend a New York afternoon. There are VIP tickets still available that will include a Saturday night special event which includes a movie screening of “Vegucated,” a guerrilla-style documentary that documents hardcore meat and cheese lovers who adopt a vegan-style diet for six weeks.
And what would a food festival be without food? This festival will surely tempt the hardest core carnivore into trying some of the expected delectable delights that will be the highlight of the show!
Enjoy responsibly.
