I have always been a lover of bright colors. Adding a pop of color on my nails, my shoes, or my lips can have the ability to change my mood. And now it seems that I have another opportunity to bring even more color into my life!
The tie-dye hair trend can be seen on stars like Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, and Lauren Conrad. This is a new take on the dip-dye look because instead of just one color, you can add the entire rainbow spectrum to your hair.
Having color in your hair is no longer reserved for punk rockers, rebellious teens, or Halloween costumes. This look can be worn everyday, and it is perfect for the upcoming sunny days of spring and summer.
Lauren Conrad’s tie-dyed locks are a little more subdued than the look Nicki Minaj went for. Just having the tips dyed is perfect for those of us who can’t quite make the jump to Nicki Minaj’s bold look but still want a little pop of color. With only the ends colored, you can still hide it in a professional looking bun for those job interviewers who don’t appreciate a good hair trend.
Luckily there are options for commitment-phobes, like me. Products like Kevin Murphy’s Color Bug offer a wipe-on, wipe-off color, so we don’t have to commit to a color for longer than one crazy night out. There are also temporary dyes that will last for about two weeks. Unfortunately, those with super dark tresses don’t have much of a temporary option. Usually, to get the burst of color, dark hair would need to be bleached.
