Bonde do Rolê -Kilo (Music Video)

I cannot begin to tell you guys how excited I am that Bonde do Rolê is coming out with another album! Bonde do Rolê is a Brazilian baile funk group that was described as “Brazilian party starters” and named as one of the “10 Bands to Watch” by Rolling Stone in 2006. They released their first album, With Lasers, in 2007 via Domino Records, receiving critical acclaim by The New York Times. Their single, Solta O Frango, was used in countless commercial campaigns and even found a spot on the FIFA 2008 soundtrack. (I highly recommend you click that link and watch that wacky music video STAT). Unfortunately, all was not well within the group, and after several cancelled performances throughout Ireland and the UK, Bonde do Rolê announced that their lead singer Marina had left the band.
With the help of MTV Brazil, the group launched a contest to find a new singer in 2008. The band now consists of the two original members (Gorky and Pedro) and their new singer Lauren Taylor. Equipped with their new singer, Bonde do Rolê rocked out their Summer 2008 Tour, culminating in a performance and nomination at the Brazilian MTV Music Awards.
Now, four years later, they are BACK and ready to give us some filthy baile funk for our summer soundtrack. They worked with a lot of INCREDIBLE producers on this album including Diplo, Switch, Boys Noize, and DJ Chernobyl. Their first single, Kilo, just dropped last week, and the video for it is TOO AWESOME. Mad Decent has really brought the heat with the music videos they have put out this year, and this video is no exception. Hot babes, mechanical bull, Diplo being a “random ass white dude,” and messy sticky fruit… I mean, do I REALLY need to say more?
Bonde do Rolê’s new album Tropicalbacanal will be released on June 26, via Mad Decent. In the meantime, you can purchase Kilo via iTunes or Beatport today! Oh, and because Mad Decent loves us so much, they’ve thrown us a FREE remix of Kilo by Turbotito Reggae Party:
