Prevent Wrinkles Sans Beauty Products
Every day young women become more and more conscious of their skin. Like many of our mothers constantly remind us, it is important that we do so at a young age to prevent wrinkles. However, skincare doesn’t always mean you have to spend hundreds of dollars on top quality beauty products every year. In fact, many of the things you can do to take care of your skin require zero money—just a little dedication.
Stay Out of the Sun
Sure, we all love a glowing tan, but if excessive tanning is going to translate into wrinkles and sunspots, no thanks. Now, this doesn’t mean you can’t ever be in the sun; all it means is that you should be a little more attentive when it comes to your skin. Wear SPF for your face, like L’Oreal’s Sublime Sun Advanced Sunscreen SPF 50+ Liquid Silk Sunshield for Face ($8). This product is affordable and magical, seriously. It is extremely lightweight, which makes for the perfect sunscreen for under your makeup. Also, try wearing a sun hat when at the beach or by the pool. We absolutely love the Rag and Bone Wide Brim Beach Hat ($175).
Sleep on Your Back
Getting enough sleep is one trick to looking young; however, you should also try to sleep on your back, as it will help you prevent wrinkles that can form from sleeping on your stomach and side. This may be a little more difficult to achieve, especially if you really love your sleep and can’t relax until you’re in a comfortable position. Of course, the more you try to sleep on your back, the easier it will become.
Keep Hydrated
Drink a lot of water. Keeping hydrated will show in your skin, offering a natural glow that can only be achieved through good health. Drinking 8 to 12 eight-ounce glasses of water a day is recommended. Bring a large refillable water jug to work or where ever you’ll be for the day; keep drinking and refill. You will also be improving your health by washing the toxins out of your body.
Eat Healthy
Steer clear from greasy, unhealthy foods. Having a poor diet will surely show in your face. Try eating raw vegetables as often as you can. Stop going out to eat every day and hit the grocery store instead. Stock your fridge with fruits and veggies. It always helps me to wash, peel, and cut all my fruits and veggies as soon as I get home from the supermarket. This way, I can open my fridge to ready-to-eat foods.
Take Vitamins
If you haven’t been taking daily supplements, you need to get on it. According to All Women Stalk, vitamins A and C are great for your skin, especially if you want to lessen the visibility of wrinkles. Consider taking additional vitamins to improve your overall health as well.
Stop Smoking
Smoking limits your blood vessels, which means your skin isn’t receiving enough nutrients or oxygen. If you want to maintain healthy looking skin for the long term, now is the time to consider quitting.
