Denim Vests For Summer
From summer music festivals to date nights to casual days, denim vests are a fashion trend that seems perfect for all occasions. I’ve been noticing this fashion trend more and more, and every time I see someone in a denim vest it solidifies my idea that it is the trend to try this summer.
Fashion Lane, the LF store blog, recently featured a post for various date night looks. One of these looks was a dress with a flirty silhouette topped off with a denim vest that had studded detailing. The tough, almost punky vest with the sweet dress was a perfect combination. The denim vest was the edgy touch that the girly look needed.
This is a great trend for summer festival wear. It adds a little extra to your outfit without making you too hot since your arms are still exposed. Use the denim vest to top off a sweet summer dress à la Fashion Lane or you can opt for the popular music festival look with a bandeau and a high waisted skirt. Don’t worry, Lollapalooza and Outside Lands aren’t the only places you can wear your new fashion accessory. Paired with some black skinnies and a long sleeve white top, the denim vest can easily carry you into fall fashion.
You can find different denim vests to match every style from the edgiest looks to the sweetest. They come in many different fits, washes, and with varying details like studs, animal prints, and floral patterns. This is also a great item to get crafty with. If you buy a plain denim vest you can add your own touches to it. Hey, you can finally have your own scorpion jacket like Ryan Gosling’s in Drive.
Here are some denim vests that caught my eye:
Brandy Melville’s Jeannie Vest
This Brandy Melville denim vest is a great basic take on the trend. It is a light wash denim which is perfect for summer days and the looks great paired with a floral dress.
Free People’s Denim Vest
I love this Free People vest because it also comes in a white denim for those of you who want something a little different. It has a shorter cut than the denim vest from Brandy Melville and a slightly edgier look with its rips.
