Swimwear Spotlight: Mandalynn

MANDALYNN swimwear is anything but ordinary beach wear. When designer Amanda Dukehart launched her own line in 2011, she wanted to bring something new to the run-of-the-mill beach fashion hitting stores each season. By channeling her free-wheeling, fun- loving energy into her swimwear line, Dukehart’s designs bring you closer to the sunshine with her bright, sexy suits.
“I was named after the musical instrument the mandolin. MANDALYNN was a natural progression for me when naming the line, and it works because a lot of my inspiration comes from music. Music and fashion are so very related, as is my personal style and my collection.” We are definitely fans of a designer who is inspired by a quintessential summer event — the music festival — and incorporates the sensory experience into her label. Creating melodic prints and rhythmic shapes, MANDALYNN is music to our ears!
After noticing a huge void in flattering and affordable beach attire, Dukehart set out to combine the styles and shapes in her own line. One year later, MANDALYNN sells on online retailers like Nasty Gal, giving globe trotting music-lovers a reason to boogie to the beach.
Dukehart studied at Parsons before moving to Florida. Her passion for art and her tropical environment lent itself to this artistic swimwear line. But the suits don’t only bring together the sunshine and fashion — like music, MANDALYNN is about friendship and togetherness.
“In the debut collection of MANDALYNN, I named each design after one of my friends. Just like my friends, I believe there is a reason for each one to be perfect in their own special way.”
