Norfolk’s AirHotel
Time Circus is a group of Belgian artists who have created nine unique rooms in the woodlands of Norfolk called the AirHotel.
These unconventional one-of-a-kind, mobile pods can be yours for the night if you’ve ever fancied spending the night at the circus.
Inspired by one big circus experience, the group designed each pod differently, playing on the the fantasy aspects of the big top.
Choose from the largest accommodation, appropriately named “Little Cottage,” which provides a space large enough to sleep six guests in three distinct rooms, floating six and a half feet (2.5m) above the earth.
If you want to go higher, then opt for the “Love Nest.” Resembling a bird’s nest, this pod is covered with wood and branches and is perched 13 feet above ground.
Not high enough? The “Sterreschijter,” which sleeps two, will be more suitable. Firmly mounted 19.7 feet (6m) up, this pod resembles an over-sized baby carriage, with great views of the starry night sky.
Said to be one of the most unusual of the pods is The “Lotus.” This sleeping chamber is suspended by four cables, resembles a giant Japanese lantern, and sleeps four comfortably, floating 13 feet (4m) above the ground.
For those more comfortable having their feet firmly on the ground, the “Night Box” is most definitely the way to go. This cube-shaped room sleeps two and is hoisted only several feet off the ground.
The Airhotel offers an “experience,” to say the least, from their mid-air hanging pods to the whimsical “rooms” in the middle of the forest surrounding actual circus acts that take place for the guest’s enjoyment.
AirHotel sets itself apart from any other overnight stay place with the fact that it’s fully mobile, and it’s unusual form of room service delivers anything from a from a love song to a 70s party.
Not only does this place breed creativity, it’s also sustainable! The suspended pods are all made from recycled materials and promises so much fun, you may never want to leave; for a mere $57 US each per stay, why would you?
