bangstyle.com today entertainment The Brick House TrailerA favorite story from our childhood is The Three Little Pigs. I remember having three different books on it. My favorite one was this eviler version of it. The illustrations were dark and rendered the story in a much scarier light. It always left me wanting to read more of the story. What happens afterward? Or even, what happens before the wolf decides to blow down their houses? Sadly, no story was made to prolong The Three Little Pigs, at least not that I was aware of.

The Brick House puts a whole new spin on The Three Little Pigs story. I honestly can’t watch the trailer without laughing. It’s supposed to tell the tale of what happens before the classic tale. It starts with the three “little pigs” inheriting a house. Then there’s a situation with the housing market and some drama against the wolves, with a little sibling strife thrown in.

The story itself isn’t really funny. I’m not even sure the film is supposed to be a comedy. But I just can’t take the film seriously when they dress up grown men in piggy noses and elf ears. The trailer shows clips of the “pigs” having serious conversations with each other, and that just makes it even more hilarious to me.

What I do find interesting is that The Brick House takes The Three Little Pigs and brings it to real life. It’s no longer a childhood cartoon story, since the pigs in the movie are dealing with adult issues and are indeed grown men.  It’s also giving us a back-story to the story we love, something I’ve always been curious about.

I’m just left a little weirded out by the images of men with weird ears and noses. But who knows? Maybe the movie will be a hit.
