CC Creams: The New BB Creams
All-in-one BB creams are the beauty product craze right now. Everywhere we turn we see different brands popping up with their own version of this miracle beauty product. Now the word on the street is that CC creams are going to be the next big thing; a new and improved version of our favorite BB creams. But what are CC creams, and do we really need them?
These CC creams or color control creams, like the BB creams, started in the Asian beauty market. Also, like the BB creams, they work both as a skin care and skin correcting product and a stand-in for our foundations. According to Refinery 29, these CC creams are an upgrade from the BB creams because they have more nourishing elements for the skin care aspect as well as more coverage. This would eliminate the need to double up on product if you feel that your BB cream doesn’t supply enough coverage. This product promises to be lighter than its sister product and be oil-free, which is good news for acne prone skin.
While I’m always on board with more vitamins and antioxidants in my skin care products, is this new product worth the craze? Hopefully, it isn’t just a ruse for beauty brands to get more money with a new trendy product, and we actually do see an improvement in the product. Critics of this upcoming beauty craze are saying that CC creams are mainly a marketing ploy and that they won’t actually provide more skin care benefits. If you are looking for more coverage, they suggest testing out several BB creams until you find one that meets your needs.
The Asian beauty market already has seen multiple brands of this product including a Chanel CC cream, which they personalized as complete correction cream rather than the color correction. Since it is so big in the Asian markets, we will probably see these upgraded products popping up all over the states soon enough, leaving you the choice to ditch you favorite BB creams for this newer model.
