Highlighting has been popular AF, ever since contouring took a backseat to the lighter more “natural” look. This season, as fashion week around the world comes to a close, we are seeing fun, new ways to incorporate highlighting and blush for the season’s to come! Possibly one of our favorites came from Pat McGrath at the SS18 Valentino Show in Paris. While she already broke the Insta-net with her “negative-space lip” at Maison Margiela, her highlight perfection at Valentino was out of this world!

While Valentino brought back the glamour of the 80s, McGrath matched that vision with one of her own. Updating the style with inspiration from famed makeup artist Way Bandy, McGrath brought this 80s feel home with a new age feel. Creating a pink blush highlight effect that wrapped from the cheekbone to the lids and temples, she also color matched each model with their own peach to pink hue, creating a trend anyone can wear.
