Each year we excitedly anticipate the release of the Pantone Color of the Year as designers, hairdressers, makeup artists and fashionistas look forward to incorporating these predictions into trends each season. Creating a beautiful collection that highlights the range of tones that can be used to highlight the trend, keep reading as Andrew Smith shares his thoughts and favorite color formulations for the 2022 Pantone Color of the Year — Veri Peri.

As the global leading authority in color, Andrew Smith of Andrew Smith Salons states “I strongly believe that when identifying what clients are seeing when they scroll online and social media for hair colour inspiration, you simply cannot ignore the domination of the Pantone Colours – they are hugely influential. “

Very Peri is a gorgeous new trend which I am so excited about. Depending on the client, their skin tone and lifestyle, this can be bespoke to them – ensuring they have a manageable colour that works for them and looks fabulous at all times. By balancing the violet-red tone and the blue tone correctly, it is a true recipes for success.

The blue tones can be cooled down by adding in a little more blue, or the violet tones can be warmed up by adding excess pink or red. The intensity of the colour can also be altered to suit the client, becoming more vibrant for those who want a much more statement colour or toned down to a more pastel shade, for those looking for a much more subtle colour.
