KDelmé Hairdressing, New South Wales-based salon, has a relaxed, yet professional environment that keeps clients coming back. Owner Kaarina Hamilton has had a highly successful career in the industry prior to opening KDelmé Hairdressing nearly five years ago, and continues to work at fashion weeks, photoshoots, and as a part of the Australian Revlon Professional Colour Specialist Team. BANGSTYLE: How long has KDelmé Hairdressing been around?

KDelmé Hairdressing: We’ll be celebrating our 5th Birthday on May 21st.

BANGSTYLE: Can you tell us a bit about the owner Kaarina Hamilton?

KDelmé Hairdressing: Kaarina Hamilton has been part of this industry for just on 18 years starting at the young age of 16, and became part of the Regional Artistic Team in New Zealand and National Artistic Team in Australia for an International Franchise Group, before moving onto her own salon KDelmé Hairdressing. Currently Kaarina has been part of the Australian Revlon Professional Colour Specialist Team for the past 3 years, providing education within salons and classes to shows and seminars, as well as doing Sydney and Melbourne Fashion Weeks, regular photoshoots and a part of the Kevin.Murphy Session.Salon group.

BANGSTYLE: What inspired you to open a salon?

KDelmé Hairdressing: To fulfill a dream of owning my own salon that provides a passionate, edgy environment where clients want to come see us not because they have to.

BANGSTYLE: What is the vibe and décor of KDelmé Hairdressing like?

KDelmé Hairdressing: It’s an industrial New York Loft feel with high ceilings, lots of windows and a very open perspective, but with an up market feel with the wood finishes. This creates a very relaxed and calm feel.

BANGSTYLE: What’s on the playlist?

KDelmé Hairdressing: A lot of Ministry of Sound – Chillouts, as well as some good ol’ fashion 80’s rock. So pretty much anything goes with us, as long as it’s got a good beat.

BANGSTYLE: What kind of client experience do you like to create?

KDelmé Hairdressing: Relaxing and calming experience, where people don’t feel rushed

BANGSTYLE: What is KDelmé Hairdressing known for?

KDelmé Hairdressing: Creative and precise colours was our original goal, but we are now known for our high-end and high quality hairdressing.

BANGSTYLE: What kind of services does the salon offer?

KDelmé Hairdressing: We are a full hair service salon, offering all cutting, colouring, styling and hair extensions services.

BANGSTYLE: What do you look for in the stylists for the salon?

KDelmé Hairdressing Passion and personality, we can teach them the skills, but those two they just have to have. Unfortunately both are getting harder and harder to find.

BANGSTYLE: Any at home hair tips for our readers?

KDelmé Hairdressing: Invest in a good style and colour, that is your base. As everything starts with a great cut and colour, and home hair care range is right for what you are trying to achieve (e.g you have changed your colour or style), make sure your home range is working for you not fighting you.

BANGSTYLE: Any future goals or plans for the salon?

KDelmé Hairdressing: Planning on more competition photoshoots, and continually growing the skills and recognition of our staff and brand, which is something that never ends. We are always trying to reinvent ourselves, to make us bigger and better.
