BANGSTYLE: How did you get into the hair industry?
Andrew: Initially, hairdressing was more of a way to experiment with shapes and colors which has turned into something palpable. Supported and encouraged by others, I made a decision to turn the experiments into a career and earned a degree in hairdressing and hairstyling from the Femina Bona Wellness Institute and have worked as a stylist since 2008. Honestly, for me, hairdressing has never lost its beauty. I can’t define it as a job; it’s the activity that I breathe every day.
BANGSTYLE: What is puppa HAIR, and why did you start it?
Andrew: puppa HAIR is the name of my business. This is what I do everyday – professional hairdressing anywhere in London. You choose where: in the street, studio, or simply at home– you name it. Becoming a mobile stylist was not my initial plan, but my clients have inspired it – to be where and when they need me. puppa HAIR is built on the foundation to fulfill client’s satisfaction. That’s what puppa HAIR actually is: flexible, friendly, and simply beautiful.
BANGSTYLE: What are the services you offer, and what makes puppa HAIR stand out?
Andrew: A mobile professional hairdressing and hairstyling anywhere in London – everything you need to make your hair look amazing. My clients have found the mobility very useful because it’s specifically where and when they need it. In such a social and fast-moving environment, having a haircut in a salon shouldn’t be the only option. The nature of having a haircut is rapidly changing. Individuals value their needs and feel safe knowing that their hair can be sorted at home, in the office, studio, or even in the park. Whatever the situation is– you don’t want to leave your house or have no time to travel, need excitement, have a photo shoot, etc.– puppa HAIR will take care of your hair.
BANGSTYLE: What are your clients like?
Andrew: I love them. They are ordinary, honest, and friendly. They do care how they look. They do care how they feel. They value their time but don’t hesitate to cook me a delicious pie or share a glass of wine. They trust others. They are just like you.
BANGSTYLE: What was a memorable moment in your career?
Andrew: Working with various clients every day brings you a lot of great moments. One that comes to mind was quite unexpected. I was walking down the street, a smile on my face, equipment box in my hand when suddenly a couple in the street stopped me and asked me to cut their hair. Guess what! They had their hair done in the middle of the street. It was an incredible experience for both the couple and everyone around.
BANGSTYLE: What are some of your favourite hair trends?
Andrew: I love what Daniel Alfonso is doing with other’s hair: precise and innovative. When it comes to the clients, my objective is to create a haircut that suits the person physically and emotionally. We work collaboratively. Sit together to find out what the expectations are. We discuss previous haircuts, I give my advice, and we both agree on the result.
BANGSTYLE: Do you have any at-home hair tips for our readers?
Andrew: Yes, you can find tips and lots of inspiration on my puppa HAIR Facebook fan page.
BANGSTYLE: How do you stay passionate and keep puppa HAIR clients satisfied?
Andrew: I give my clients the best possible haircut by listening to their needs and adding my input as a stylist. These are my work foundations that lead to cheerful clients. Not only skills matter, but also the process and emotions during and after. Every time I meet an existing or a new client, a new experience takes place. Every single haircut is a unique project, and that’s what I like about my work the most. That inspires me, and I pass it on to puppa HAIR clients.
