A Clockwork Orange was the inspiration behind the concepts of Han Wen's collection; a novel from 1962 by Anthony Burgess, depicting the lifestyle of gangs and violence among British youth in the 1880's. Known as a time of the most feared street gangs in London, women during this time often dressed like men. Han Wen wondered what it would be like if these women had more girlish attire, thus his AW17 collection was born and shown at London Fashion Week 2017.

Fishnets peeked through Han Wen’s pieces as mini pleated skirts, luxe silks, pinstripes and oversized suits made their way down the runway.

The braids created by Chie Sato, label.m International Artistic Director and her Session Team, gave a nod to the laced up elements of his collection; unplanned sections with strong braids and embellishments for a feminine touch.

With a dramatic lower lash line, deep hued lips and perfectly placed braids the beauty to accompany the collection matched the strength of the pieces worn.

To get the look, Chie Sato instructed stylists to take an undone section with fingers and make a clean braid with a strong shape. Using label.m Volume Mousse and label.m Hairspray these products helped construct and finish the feel of these undone, embellished braids.
