As a colorist, gray coverage is an extremely important service to understand, because the question isn’t whether hair will gray or not… it is “when”? In this COLORIST CONFESSION we learn about how to cover gray hair while simultaneously adding highlights during the processing time. Perfecting this service will not only save you time, but will leave your clients with more color depth, style accentuation, and a yourthful appearence. Hear what David Stanko, Redken Educator and sought after colorist worldwide, has to say about the products he chose to use and why.

COLORIST CONFESSION: GRAY BE GONE

"Gray coverage is the priority. Keeping this in mind, 10 minutes into full processing, I mix Up to 7 + 10 vol. Pro-oxide Developer and randomly place foil highlights throughout the fringe and top layers of the hair. I stay away from Zone 1 and gently blend Up to 7 to create a softly grown-in look. This also allows the re-touch and highlight formulas to complete processing at the same time."
-David Stanko
