The Autumn/Winter 2018 NYFW runways are always a step ahead. Case in point: The au courant hairstyles that reigned supreme on the catwalk. From chic side parts to romantic updos, the saying, what’s old is new again, rang true as models sported vintage looks with modern flair. Check out three styles to steal from the runway.
The Style: Sleek Low Knot
The Show: Brandon Maxwell
Nothing looks more chic more than a sleek style. At the Brandon Maxwell show, models sported low buns with a clean center part. To achieve the look on second-day strands, apply privé Dry Shampoo to your roots and massage it in to absorb any excess oils. Next, create a center part, then use a boar bristle brush to smooth down the front ends of your hair. Pull the hair into a low bun and secure it with bobby pins, then use privé Firm Hold Hair Spray to smooth down the front and sides of your hair.
The Style: Swept Back Half-Updo
The Show: Zimmermann
Effortless texture gave a soft, feminine appeal to the romantic half-updos spotted on the Zimmermann runways. To achieve a similar look, apply privé Finishing Texture Spray to mid-lengths and ends, then gently scrunch the ends to activate your natural wave. Next, pull the front pieces of your hair back and secure them with bobby pins. Gently loosen up the hair around the crown then pull out a few face-framing pieces and finish with more texture spray if desired.
The Style: Sleek Side Part
The Show: Cushnie et Ochs
A mix of texture added a modern edge to the slicked-down styles spotted at the Cushnie et Ochs show. Models sported sleek side parts with natural texture at the ends. To mimic the style, create a deep side part on damp strands, then smooth the hair over to one side and pin it in place. Next, apply a dime-size amount of privé Curl Cream to the mid-lengths and ends, then scrunch your ends to enhance your natural waves and air-dry or blow-dry with a diffuser. Finish with privé Finishing Hair Spray.
