Sam Villa, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Sam Villa and Global Artistic Ambassador for Redken is named 2021 NAHA Winner for Educator of the Year!

Villa was a true inspiration to so many as he continued to provide quality free live education throughout the darkest days of the pandemic, and even doubled down and put together a team of ambassadors to diversify educational offerings.  “I think many stylists had to disconnect in order to reconnect,” says Villa.  “We all learned so much, sharing this new knowledge and providing others with a platform to share is literally what kept me going.”

The Sam Villa team embraces interaction and connection, they focus on teaching techniques and skills that are usable at the chair. With expert insight on services that fill a need from solutions to problems. “Communication builds wealth. The stylists that become educators at the chair, will win the game, and we can help them develop those skills,” he adds.

The Sam Villa company was one of the first to offer weekly live education for free, including “Mannequin Mondays,” “Transformation Tuesdays,” “Wellness Wednesdays” and “Instagram Live” on Thursdays on FacebookYouTube, and Instagram.  They also featured guest artists such as Vernon Francois, Larisa Love, Ira Pope Sage, Tippi Shorter at their monthly “The Show Must Go On,” and participated in digital trade events like Salon Centric and ISSE.

Moving forward, Villa, along with his ArTeam (Andrew Carruthers/Culture Ambassador, Jesse Linares and Anna Peters) and Ambassadors (Becka Bradshaw, Ashley Brown, Al Campbell, Ellen Devine, Cindy Duplantis, Blake Reed Evans, Kauilani Goodwyn, Twylla Jane, Jada Jenkins, Ashley Mauriello, Mandy McCullough, Roger Molina, Lindsey Marie Olson, Jorge Perez, Evie Peterson, Caralee Pridemore, Teresa Romero, Karla Valenzuela, Manda Ziegelman) will continue to lead the industry in quality education and lend support to friends and allies in live spaces like NAHA, ABS Chicago, Premiere Orlando.

“The future of education is a hybrid model — live digital, virtual, and in-person teaching will all coexist. In-person classes will offer virtual tickets and more multi-brand collaborations will form, all in the name of education. And the content shared will continue to evolve…there’s a whole new world out there with express services, premium pricing, incentives to maintain staff, and apprenticeship programs,” explains Villa.  “The important thing to remember is, we must never cease to learn – an investment in education is an investment in your future!”
