Let’s face it, January has already felt like the longest year yet and this cold front isn’t making it easier on any of us. We’re only a few short weeks away from daylight savings, sunny days and spring flowers but, in the meantime, everyone could use a little pick-me-up. Lucky for you, our favourite way to do so involves being indoors – in the salon that is. The freshest shades of the season have just debuted and each one is sure to give you a bit of hope and inspiration for spring. Drawing on what we’ve seen in fashion, these shades are sure to make an impact on seasonal trends.

Peek-a-boo Pink

While we love an all-over pink pastel, why not take the placement a step further? COLOR.ME by KEVIN.MURPHY Design Director, Kate Reid created this magnificent rose highlight that can be applied to both blondes and brunettes. That’s a win-win in our trend books! What we love most about this look is the subtle placement that allows for a notable impact. While we’ve seen blondes all over Instagram wearing pink, this is the first time we’ve actually fallen in love with the brunette version. *Pro tip: Keeping warm undertones throughout a brunette base won’t combat the deep rosy hue.

Barely-There Blue

This season, all eyes were on Lady Gaga’s Red Carpet rendition of baby blue hair. The shade surely made a statement, however, we attribute this in part to the colour of her dress and the matchy-matchy factor. When it comes to wearing this colour on the daily, we actually love this sea-worthy shade. Playing off of last season's green trend, this blue is on the smoky side and borders on iridescent. Paired with a texturised pixie, it is the perfect combo to allow for the subtle strikes of colour to really stand out. If you’ve got longer locks, simply ask your stylist to add a bit of texture to your layers to replicate the look.

Beaming Bronde

KEVIN.MURPHY CRYSTAL.TWILIGHT

Brunettes shades were trending last season as we saw monochromatic hues and deep undertones everywhere. But, as the blooms start to spring, brunettes will be looking for a subtle way to reinvent their hair colour. Warm gold undertones and babylights are key to creating an “I woke up like this” dimensional tone. The subtle shade and expert placement will ensure a low-maintenance style that looks stunning on both male and female clientele. Ask your stylist for babylights mixed with teasylights and a slightly gold undertone to warm things up this season.

Dusty Platinum

KEVIN.MURPHY CRYSTAL.TWILIGHT

Platinum has been seen everywhere this season and it isn’t going anywhere for spring. Instead, it is simply getting a mini makeover and becoming the go-to colour for male clientele! Men don’t usually have as many options when it comes to their style, but adding colour to their service is a simple way to make a swift change. Whether your client is a brunette or dabbling in subtle highlights, suggest an all over pop of colour to really set their look apart this season. *Pro tip: To keep their platinum looking dusty in hue at home, be sure to send them home with COLOURING.ANGELS COOL.ANGEL treatment!
