Whitney’s interest is deeply embedded in creative design and sculpting, editorial photo work, session styling, and catering to high-end and creative clientele. Following school, Whitney worked as a generalist for five years until channeling her interest to specialize solely in modern barbering. Whitney quickly fell in love with the ability to sculpt something and make it far more tailored for each client which has taken her on a journey over the years to build her brand and acquire mastery over her craft.
Whitney reached a tipping point in her career when she decided she wanted the freedom and flexibility to combine all of her passions into one collective space - THE AESTHETIC x WHITNEY VERMEER, an exclusive hair studio for clients seeking high end tailored haircuts with an unprecedented service. Whitney’s goal is to bring back the barber shop sense of community and as most of her clientele are creatives, she wants to create a space where she can not only collaborate with them, but where they can collaborate with each other.
Whitney shares her wealth of knowledge with companies such as Baxter of California and Hattori Hanzo Shears; and worked on 4 separate collections for the North American Hairstyling awards. Whitney’s writings and design work have been featured in international publications and is reaching communities around the world. Part of her priorities are still embedded in her passion to design and deploy advanced curriculum to enhance male and ungendered culture setting new precedents in the industry on modern barbering – Yet it’s also important for her to continue to grow and learn from others.
