Get The Look: Cara Delevingne at the 2022 Met Gala

The Gilded Age was the inspiration for the “Gilded Glamour” theme at the 2022 Met Gala. A nod to the 19th century and a time of great American innovation and extreme opulence. Encapsulating the Gilded Age in New York this theme pointed to the disparities in our current day culture. While some took the opportunity to make political statements others chose to highlight the glittering vibe of the times. Sequins, chains, corsets and metallic fabrics were everywhere. Kim Kardashian turned heads showing up in the iconic Marilyn Monroe sheer sparkling dress she wore to sing Happy Birthday to JFK.

Perhaps turning even more heads was Cara Delevingne — who is no stranger to making a statement. She wore a Dior suit that gave off Ringleader vibes and unveiled a bare chest covered in gold body paint and pasties underneath. Taking the theme and making it very literal, we wouldn’t expect anything less! Pairing her look with golden locks, Cara’s hair was created by Wella Professionals Celebrity Stylist Mara Roszak with a Wella Professionals Color Fresh Mask in Golden Gloss and then styled into flowing waves to finish the look. From the color to the style, Roszak is giving us an insider peek into how to get the Met Gala look!

Cara Delevingne Met Gala 2022 Step by Step:

First, Roszak prepped the hair with the Wella Professionals Color Fresh Mask in Golden Gloss to create the gorgeous golden tone that they were going for. The warmth of the color perfectly matched the brief and helped create stunningly healthy-looking locks.
Then, on her wet hair she applied the Wella Professionals EIMI Extra Volume Mousse Strong Hold Volumizing Mousse to achieve a soft hold and added volume.
From there, she applied two pumps of ROZ Santa Lucia styling oil to create a smooth shine for the blow out.
After the hair was blow-dried, she curled the hair with a 1 and ¼” iron to create the cascading soft waves.
Finally, she sprayed Wella Professionals EIMI Stay Firm Workable Finishing Hairspray to enhance the curls.
To finish, Roszak brushed the hair out for a soft feel and pulled her hair to one side to complete the look.
