As one of the most celebrated nights in the film industry, the Academy Awards a.k.a the Oscars are a highlight of the best films of the year and also the best fashion.

This year’s event, which took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, was every bit of extra everyone was looking for. Full of laughter thanks to Ryan Gosling’s “I’m Just Ken” performance and the Barbenheimer bit, love to all the amazing actors and actresses who poured their hearts out on the screen, tears expressed in gratitude from the winners like Da’Vine Joy Randolph and the wow moments like Billie Eilish’s performance, that won her and her brother Finneas a standing ovation — the night was a true celebration on and off the stage.

And the moments captured on the Red Carpet were also something to be celebrated. With everyone dressed their best, outfits were demure and dazzling at the same time. Here are a few of the styles that will be living in our heads rent-free this year.

While the jury of floating straps is still out both Emily Blunt and Florence Pugh leaned into this move, allowing their fresh faces and plenty of sparkle around their necks to shine.

Billie Eilish took home more than a standing ovation in our eyes, she looked absolutely stunning in Chanel with a smooth, bouncy blowout and natural makeup that really brought out her eyes. While we’ve always loved her vibrant hair and outside-the-box take on fashion — we loved this look on her from head to toe.

Fashion took on a vintage feel with gowns and hairstyles that gave a 1950s finish (we see you Jennifer L and thank you Carey Mulligan for standing in a Balenciaga recreation of Cristobal’s Mermaid Dress.

For the most part, (pun intended) hair was slicked back and smooth with plenty of center parts and we loved the tuck behind-the-ear look seen on Emma Stone. Makeup was effortless with natural, sun-kissed shades and fresh faces.

If you ask Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Carey Mulligan, America Ferrera, Sydney Sweeney, Danielle Brooks, and plenty others — bobs are back and better than ever with every iteration. With iconic finishes and a throwback to classic designs,

Best Supporting Actress nominee Danielle Brooks was glowing in a black Dolce & Gabbana “deconstructed Tuxedo” dress with a glorious leg slit and sparkling corset. Her short hair was styled with a slight wave and classic curl to draw attention to the neckline of her look with ease.

Wella Professionals partnered with Best Supporting Actress nominee Danielle Brooks and her hairstylist Tish Celestine to create her Oscar’s look. The key elements were the inclusion of Wella Professionals Ultimate Repair Miracle Hair Rescue to prep Danielle’s hair for the red carpet. Danielle said, “It’s been a long and rewarding road to the Oscars, but after months of red carpets and shows, it’s been important to maintain a healthy hair care routine. My hair stylist, Tish Celestine added Wella Professionals’ Ultimate Repair Miracle Hair Rescue into my hair care regimen, and it works so fast. I swear my hair looks smoother and feels stronger than it did before!”

The secret behind Danielle’s look was the product combination that left her hair feeling lightweight, hydrated, protected and luxurious!

The Steps

Lupita Nyong'o showed up shimmering in a Giorgio Armani dress and a beautiful up style that showed off shine and texture, to complement her look. “The overall look of this hairstyle is inspired by Lupita’s natural beauty. I wanted to create something that had a lot of shine and texture. Said Vernon François who styled Lupita’s hair. “I meticulously followed a series of steps to enhance her natural coils and ensure that her look remained flawless throughout the high-profile event,” he added.

Get The Look:

  1. First, apply Matrix A Curl Can Deam Light Hold Gel to define and enhance natural texture. This provides a beautiful base for the style.
  2. Next, take small amount of Matrix Controller Gel and apply around the hairline. This step was crucial to keep every strand in place and maintain a sleek look, while ensuring Lupita’s hair remained impeccable under the spotlight.
  3. To achieve the perfect balance between flexibility and structure, I used Matrix’s Fixer Hairspray to provide a flexible hold that would allow for movement without losing shape.
  4. For areas requiring extra hold, I applied Matrix’s Vavoom Extra Hold Freezing Hairspray to ensure that every element of the hairstyle stayed in place, providing long-lasting hold without compromising on the overall shine and vitality of the hair.
