Encarna Moreno takes us away to a Parisian escape within her latest collection — Amelie. Inspired by the iconic style of Parisian women, everything from their bright red lipstick to their carefree attitude shines through in this collection. Calling Seville, Spain home and hoping for women stylists everywhere to be recognized for their stunning work, learn more about this incredible artist and what this collection means to her.

What was the inspiration behind this collection?

I was inspired by the PLAZA POMPIDOU where the modern style is mixed within the old town of Paris, the MELTING concept very current today in hairdressing, like my collection a fusion of strength, geometry, modern style in cut and color with the sweetness, style and security of the model like this photo where you can see the mixture of modernist styles within a classic frame. And those red lips are the hallmark of the Parisian woman.

Another of my inspiration for La French in this Collection is the song LA VIE EN ROSE, seeing life in pink — it presents 2 rose works in different shades and a curly style of that time but with a more current air.

Tell us more about you as an artist and how your work has changed over the years.

I started in the world of hairdressing at age 16 by vocation, at 21 years I opened my own salon, where I began to grow as a professional training with the best. With more than 30 years of profession, I currently have 2 hairdressing salons in the city of Seville, Spain, and am recognized nationally and internationally for my work, my collections, as a trainer of updos and balayage and innumerable awards and recognitions. The last award was as the Winner of the Color Trophy 2020 Spain, as the best hairdresser of L’Oreal España, and I also received a color award, and will represent SPAIN in the international final in 2021.

What did you learn about yourself through creating this collection?

When creating this collection I learned that with one model we can transform her look and create another different person, the same model for four different looks

Were there any products/tools that were key to getting the looks/colours?

This collection is all made with L’Oreal products. One of the key products to achieve these looks is the Blonde Studio Bonder Insider decoration that lightens up to 8 tones while respecting the quality of the hair and DIALIGHT acid coloring without ammonia to add luminosity to the hair.

What do you hope the audience takes away from these looks?

That these looks are youthful and modern, easy to wear for any age and situation.

What trends do you see taking place the next few seasons?

For 2021 the trends to come are hair in 3 sizes: very short, medium and XXL manes. In terms of color we bet on pink blondes and champagne color and as well as curly, fluffy or afro hair.

If you could have a superpower what would it be?

The superpower for women in the world of hairdressing to be more visible and represented since 90% of hairdressers are women and very few stand out publicly

Coffee or tea? Morning person or night owl?

I like to have breakfast at home in the morning with a big cup of coffee and make the most of the day, and come home early in the afternoon to enjoy my family.

Favorite travel destination?

My favorite destination is between Paris and New York, I don't know which of the two, when I have been in these cities I like to walk through the streets and observe the shop windows and the people in the street, they are two cities that make me fall in love I hope to come back soon.
