Anyone with curly hair knows just how hard it is to get a perfect style. While you may have your air dry routine down, knowing how to dry hair with a diffuser is key whether in a rush or for the winter months. Another benefit to learning how to dry with a diffuser is the ability to enhance your curls and add volume! In the latest tutorial from Sam Villa Professional, Sam Villa Co-Founder of Sam Villa and Global Artistic Director for Redken shows us how to get the look with ease!
“I love working with a diffuser to enhance curly hair. This technique requires that you twist hair into the diffuser before you attach it to the dryer. The result is beautifully enhanced curls, more volume and great definition,” says Sam Villa, Co-Founder of Sam Villa and Global Artistic Ambassador for Redken.
The Steps
Step 1: Drop the ends of a section of hair inside a finger diffuser and twist and lift as you elevate so hair is intertwined between the fingers.
Step 2: Attach the dryer to the diffuser and use low speed and high heat to dry the section. If it gets too hot, angle the diffuser away from the head. Release and let cool/set.
Step 3: Repeat on all other sections.
Step 4: After it has fully cooled, lift and separate curls.
