Miuccia Prada always makes a statement, and beyond the one she made with Raf Simmons, her collection effortlessly embraces a strong, feminine feel this season. Juxtaposing menswear and feminine “cliche” touches, her collection sheds light on a new power, one that says “femininity equals power”. Continuing to command her position as one of the top females in the fashion industry, we can appreciate that Miuccia is always pushing the feminine envelope. Looking forward to fringe, belted boxy frames, and micro accessories Redken Global Creative Director Guido Palau created a futuristic feel to finish the look.

“The hair this season at Prada was like classically futuristic. I used Redken Extreme Play Safe to blow dry the hair completely away from the face, added hair extensions to take all the layers away, and then secured the look with Redken Triple Pure 32 Hairspray for a classic, futuristic, but very Prada look.” - Redken Global Creative Director Guido Palau.

Offering up a fresh new feel, the newly appointed creative director Walter Chiapponi draws on not only Italian life, but lifestyle as well. Creating a timeless collection, Redken Global Creative Director Guido Palau adds to the 70s vibe with extreme center parts at Tod’s FW20 MFW Show.

“The hair at Tod's this season was a variation on the 70s, from French girls to a more English 70s youth-movement. All of the looks had a middle part with each model’s unique character taken into consideration. We’ve got extreme haircuts, extreme center parts with waves, and some boyish looks at the show. I’ve prepped the hair with Redken Extreme Play Safe to blow dry, and then sculpted it with Redken Triple Pure 32 Hairspray.” - Redken Global Creative Director Guido Palau.

Structured shapes and high-fashion glamour meet on the runway at Versace’s FW20 MFW Show as knits, classic shapes, and statement layering take center stage. Officially bringing back the side part, Redken Global Creative Director Guido Palau creates a boyish finish to allude to the trends showcased on the runway.

“The look at Versace this season is boyish a kind of ponytail, with a deep side part. I’ve put extensions in the front to give the hair a boyish twist with the bangs coming over one eye, which is a nod to the trend that Donatella was looking for. I’ve used Redken Extreme Play Safe in the hair to prep for the blow dry, then put in the extensions in the front and razor-cut them, and then cleaned up the look with Redken Triple Pure 32 Hairspray.” - Redken Global Creative Director Guido Palau.

The show was one of tradition, as it usually is with Dolce & Gabbana. They showed off an array of androgynous looks with a handcrafted feel. Capitalizing on tailoring and knitwear, neutrals reigned supreme alongside chunky knits of all sizes and shapes. When it came to the hair, Redken Global Creative Director Guido Palau created a few iterations with a 60s vibe that touches on both sexy and feminine. Keep reading to see just how he got the Dolce & Gabbana’s FW20 MFW Show look and how to recreate the style at home!

“The look at Dolce this season was a play on masculine and feminine looks. With Dolce, there is always that Sicilian influence with a touch of sexiness and femininity. I’ve used Redken Hardwear Gel 16 on the more masculine looks with a deep side part and sprayed it with Redken Triple Pure 32 Hairspray so it is sculptural and boyish. We had a few variations of the feminine looks. I blow-dryed some hair with Redken Extreme Play Safe with some height at the crown for a 60s vibe. There were some chignons that were soft around the face, which is also signature Dolce. You can do these looks at home by cutting down some of the gel and just using some hairspray.” - Redken Global Creative Director Guido Palau.

Moncler made headlines with their Genius collaboration show at MFW 2020, creating an experiential adventure in fashion. Adding to their modern feel, Redken Global Creative Director Guido Palau created a low ponytail for a fresh finish.

“We’re here at Moncler where my key product is Redken Extreme Play Safe to heat protect and fortify hair. I’ve pulled the hair back into a low ponytail with Redken Triple Pure 32 Hairspray. Then, I’ve spritzed the hairline back to give it a fresh look, almost like it was done accidentally. This keeps the look very modern, and very Moncler.” - Redken Global Creative Director Guido Palau.
