E8924edb957ef2496577 tousled waves

This year, focus on a style that is all fun, no fuss! Keune Educator Cory Wallace created this tousled wave so you can create an effortless look whether you’re strutting down the street or headed out for a fun night on the town!

“I really have grown fond of the more loose, tousled waves I’ve been seeing. It’s an easy style to create that anyone can do with the right product, tools and technique,” Cory says.

Why not try it out as your New Year, new you go-to style to wear or teach?

Aside from the aesthetic this look has, Cory also really likes how touchable and lived-in tousled waves are, and how the style is simple for him to share with clients who can easily recreate it at home. “I feel it’s my duty as a hairstylist to create and share looks and styles that will fit my clients’ ‘hair time’ at home. And my clients are on the move more than ever before. This look is perfect to compliment their busy lifestyle,” he explains.

The tools and products you’ll need:

  • Design Thickening Cream;
  • Design Dry Shampoo;
  • Ergo Polishing Paddle Brush;
  • A few pin curl clips and blowdryer.

Step 1: This look is best achieved on freshly washed hair. Apply Keune Design Thickening Cream to towel-dried hair.

Step 2: Section the hair, isolating the top, sides and back of head. “I like to clip up the hair as I move from section to section. Clipping allows the hair to cool and it is a good way to ensure a strong, long-lasting touchable wave,” Cory explains.

Step 3: Using Ergo’s Polishing Paddle Brush, blow-dry horizontal sections and twist the brush out to the ends.

Step 4: Set each section as you go and allow it to cool.

Step 5: Spray Keune Design Dry Shampoo through the hair. “I like to use this dry shampoo while detailing my finished look to add extra volume and texture,” Cory says.

Step 6: To finalize the look, run your fingers through the hair for some “undone movement.”  And voila, you have yourself some beautiful, tousled hair for 2017.
