The North American Beauty Envision Awards give professional artists the chance to step outside the box and express their creativity through the world of competition as they shape the next era of beauty. This year, 33 top hairstylists and nail artist professionals from the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada came together for the 2021 Awards presented by TrendVision at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas for a night full of celebration and style.
"Tonight is special,” said Wella Company CEO Annie Young-Scrivner. “This year’s competition received the second highest number of entries from the last 10 years. These artists are proof that this industry is unstoppable and we’re so happy to be back educating and inspiring beauty professionals live in Las Vegas.”
The theme of this year’s awards was “Chrysalis” — to symbolize a new stage of growth, a sentiment we have all looked forward to. Finalists were narrowed down from over 3,600 entries to take to the stage in a live competition and online submissions across 13 diverse categories.
The event featured presentations from the Wella Professionals Ambassador team and the #TogetherWeRise team. Briana Cisneros, Zach Mesquit, and Dereq Clark from the Ambassador team presented ‘Creative Rebellion,’ representing looking at the world through the lens of change, a renaissance of color, a rebellion of creativity. The goal was to create and inspire a deliberate act of defiance, sparking a new beginning. Omar Antonio, Johannie Jacquitte, and Anthony Cress made up the #TogetherWeRise team, whose presentation was described by Omar as, “a journey through the passion and anger of protesting (Fire), the eerie silence and fear of a shelter in place (Smoke/Ash), and the promise of hope for tomorrow (Rebirth).”
