It might be hard to look ahead to fall as we still enjoy the last remnants of the summer sun, but there is no time like the present to start planning your looks for the season ahead. With a few previews from fashion week there are some style staples you won’t want to pass up this fall. Learn about the latest hair trends we expect to see (and love) this year.

2023 Back-To-School Hair Trends

Accessories Are Getting Upgraded

Accessories have been back in a big way but mostly with a y2k spin on them. As we head into Fall 2023 we see accessories take on more refined features with things like bows and headbands making a comeback. Add a small bow as an accent or create a big and bouncy one — we love the idea of tying something sweet to your half-up hairstyle to make a statement.

Slicked Back Ponytails (Still) in the Spotlight

The Snatched Ponytail and the Snatched Bun were quite a hit last fall with TikTokers setting the trend ablaze. The ultra-slick style is still in the spotlight this season as individuals crave a high-fashion way to add a touch of chic to their ponytail. Pair this with a high turtleneck or to beat the last bits of heat as we transition into fall.

Barely-There Bangs Forever More

Call them peek-a-boo, barely-there, see-through or feathered — we love the look all the same. As one of the top bang trends of 2023, we’re predicting to see this look throughout the fall and winter months as well. Although, while it looks fairly easy to create, please don’t cut your bangs at home. Your stylist will be able to determine the best shape, length and thickness based on your hair type and style routine.

Ballerina Buns Steal The Show

Every now and again we see ballet-inspired trends come into fashion. While we haven’t had too long of an intermission since the last time we reported on it — this season, the ballerina bun is back. Similar to the sleek ponytail, this ballet-inspired hairstyle favors a slick and shiny finish with a tidy bun above all else.

Soft Waves FTW

There’s nothing wrong with carrying the vibes of summer into fall and if we were to choose one style to do that with, it’s definitely soft waves. Settling somewhere between a blow dry and beach waves, soft waves feature barely-there movement that can’t fully be defined. It works wonderfully with the addition of natural texture and can be created on air-dried or blow-dried hair, which makes it a go-to style in our books.
