The inspiration behind "Pink Flowers" stemmed from many different aspects of my life. Pink is a symbol for so much. It symbolizes, simplicity in life, sweetness, cuteness, breast cancer awareness, and innocence. I knew I wanted to something in pink and with pink flowers

Lucky for me, I have amazing clients that enjoy taking photos outside their regular job. When I was putting this together, so I asked them would they be willing to collaborate and they said yes. Daniel and Paige Riggs work as a great team for photography and we started by discussing what my vision was –a woman laying on a bed of different pink flowers.

To get the look, I utilized Redken Guts 10, Redken Control Addict 28, and the Sam Villa Textr Iron. Then, I accessorized the look with a plethora of different pink and white flowers.

This photoshoot means the world to me because my vision really came to life. I am really working hard to develop my skills in editorial styling, and I know I have a long way to go, but with practice, practice, and more practice, I think I am getting there. This shoot represents ‘life’ to me. I wanted to keep things simple and appreciate how even the simplest of things such as flowers, can create true beauty.  Working with a team of like-minded individuals really helps to make things run smoothly.

I was sitting at home trying to think about what kind of photo shoot I wanted to do. As I was scrolling through Pinterest and Google looking for "images with pink flowers," lots of different things came up – Breast Cancer awareness, springtime, beautiful flowers, and just sweet simple things. It hit me then, that was it, I wanted to do a shoot with a model laying among a bed of flowers.

I immediately messaged Daniel and Paige Riggs and said ‘Hey I have an idea’. I told them my vision and we went to work on it. I created a mood board of pictures and sent them to Daniel and Paige and we discussed how we would do this. The beautiful results are shown in the pictures. The model we used is also a client of mine, Mary Kate. She has posed for me before with different challenges and images. I knew with her skin tone, hair color, and bone structure that she would be the perfect model.

We learned a lot through this photo shoot - about what to do next time and what not to do at our next photo shoot. It really inspired me for upcoming projects. As soon as I got home from the shoot I wrote down all of my notes and couldn’t help but dream about our next photoshoot!

I hope this inspires others to step out of their comfort zone and just go for it! You have nothing to lose but everything to gain. I know I have a long way to go, but at least I am starting and putting myself out there to try something new no matter the results – you can always learn something.
