What was the inspiration behind this collection?

The passing of legends like David Bowie and Prince inspired me, I have been showcasing androgyny in my work for years and named my collection "Glam Rock".

What was your favorite technique to use?

Right now, I love using styling techniques on men. Blow dying, flat iron, brushes etc....

How has the popularity of men’s styling influenced your choices for this collection?

I love seeing that men are looking to a hairstylist to help them find their individual look, men are really stepping up there game!

What was your biggest challenge in creating this collection?

This was the very first time I have done a shoot and changed my direction that very day. We had storyboards and models booked for another story but it just wasn't working. So, we regrouped and treated it like a creative and let everyone do what they do best! Photographer, styling, makeup, hair...

And Glam Rock was made!

What does your collection say about men’s trends?

I think it has a late 70's early 80's feel, and we are definitely seeing influence of the 80's on the fashion runways.
How did you select/work with your team to hone your vision?

I have had the same team for a while now; the only person I change is the photographer. I like to pick the photographer based on their book and play to there strengths.
How did social media influence your work?

I think it influences everyone one way or another, it has become part of our daily ritual because there are so many talented people and incredible images online.

If you were to describe this collection in one word, what would it be?

Glam Rock

Tell us a little more about you, as an artist.

I really love our industry! There are so many different things you can do as a hairstylist and I love being in a salon, being a educator, working on and for TV, photo shoots and fashion weeks. You can express yourself in so many different ways.

How do you do Vegas?

"What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" hah.

Daytime: pool and cocktails.

Nightime: great food, gambling, nightlife.

And I love the NAHA awards! There are so many talented and great people in same room.

Salty or sweet?

Sweet!

What did you learn about yourself through creating this collection?

I really stepped out of my box this collection. If you’ve seen my work, I usually have my own style, but I went totally a different direction this time, which was very scary and also satisfying.

If you won the lotto (or slot machine) tomorrow, what would you do?

The same thing I'm doing today...lol

Maybe bring my dog and hangout at Bangstyle.
