Celebrity Style

T ake a cue from the heaps of celebs who are done hiding behind a mane of long hair. Flowing locks are being passed over for shaved sides, long bangs and cuts that have a "boy-ish" look while feeling unmistakably feminine. From Scarlett Johansson to Kristen Stewart to Shailene Woodley, short hair is the new definition of strength and beauty!

From the Pros

"This boyish style is defined by marrying length on top that creates texture and softness to bestow a splash of femininity with super-short sides, which emulates an edgy, sharp feeling of masculinity. A funky, contemporary twist is embodied by creating a depth of colour on the sides with a contrasting lightness on top."

Get the Look

Long fringe with a shot cut will help create Texture, Volume and Movement to your new style. To creating separation and texture, prep the hair with Matrix StyleLink “Heat Buffer.” Power blow dry the hair using your fingers to create volume/movement in the fringe. Layer StyleLink “Volume Booster” to create volume and texture. Use a round bush to create lift at the base and to smooth out your ends. Try using the flatiron on a section of your fringe to give a “direction” to final look. Use StyleLink Style Fixer to finish the look off and give it some hold.
