Earlier this year Fergie was announced as the new #SOCOLORCULT Icon. Alongside this announcement Matrix launched a contest, which was first announced in January at the brand’s Matrix Destination 2018 event, invited hairstylists across the country to create an eye-popping and innovative vibrant look for a chance to work alongside a Matrix Celebrity Stylist to style and color SOCOLOR Cult Icon Fergie for her July 12th concert in Long Island, NY. Hairstylists submitted their designs via Instagram tagging #SOCOLORCULT and #FERGIExMATRIX, along with a caption explaining why they should be chosen to win.
If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the results, they are finally here! Matrix is excited to announce the top 10 winners in the FERGIExMATRIX SOCOLOR Cult social media contest!
The top 30 finalists, who were announced in mid-April, participated in a phone interview with members of the Matrix Education team, who narrowed the list of winners down to 10. Two Grand Prize winners will be working alongside Matrix Celebrity Stylists George Papanikolas and Nick Stenson to color and style Fergie herself, while 8 First Prize winners will work to style her dancers, band members, and/or celebrity guests.
