We are thrilled to partner with the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) to promote all the talented artists who are finalists for the 2015 NAHAs (North American Hairstyling Awards), the most prestigious hair and beauty award in the country. We had the honor of interviewing Bangstyle Artist, one of this year’s finalists in the “Haircolor“ category, Greta Coston. Check out our interview with Greta and get the scoop on what fuels her passion for amazing hair color.

Tell us a bit about your nominated collection this year. What was the inspiration behind the looks? How did the creative process unfold?
Andy Warhol pop art. The way the creative process unfolded was choosing the color hues that I wanted for each look then how I wanted the color to fall around the shape of the head.

Were there collections in other categories that you found inspiring or particularly appealing?

What is your recipe for a successful shoot?
Have a plan of action and it takes a great team.

What was the most surprising thing you’ve discovered about the hair industry?
How much there is to the hair industry and how many different ways you influence and inspire different people.

Is there a category you are really interested in competing in next time?
The “Texture” Category!

How will you celebrate a win in your category?
I will celebrate with my team!

What draws you to hair color?
The endless possibilities there are, the ways it can change a hair cut and create such great movement to the hair

Which non-hair related areas do you constantly find yourself being inspired by?
Architecture.

What’s your guilty pleasure?
My boyfriend and my dogs.
