For most “Stranger Things” fanatics, it’s been a few months since we’ve seen the Hawkins kids—because who didn’t binge-watch all of Season 3 within a few days? However, back in September, Netflix pleasantly surprised us all with the early announcement that Season 4 is officially in the works! Although we may have to wait until late 2020 to early 2021 for the latest installation of the series, we can still pay homage to our favorite ‘80s babies by taking a cue from their most iconic assets: their hair! Check out six reasons why the Hawkins ladies are the definition of hair goals.

1) Eleven is queen

Whether it was the shaved look she sported throughout the first season to the slicked-back style she debuted in Season 2 to the flirty, “grown-up” lob (befitted with an on-trend scrunchy) she rocked in the latest episodes, Eleven (played by actress Millie Bobby Brown) can do no wrong when it comes to her locks. Her hair, much like her character, is constantly evolving, and, if there’s anything we can learn from the preternatural preteen, it’s that confidence is key.

2) Max proves red is fall’s hottest shade

Warm tones are huge this season, and while it may be tempting to rock a bright crimson hue, there’s something romantic and ethereal about Max’s dusty red locks, especially for women with a fair complexion. Thanks to Elle’s bestie (played by actress Sadie Sink), women everywhere are running to the salon, begging their colorists to recreate her signature shade.

3) “Big hair, don’t care” is a mantra we should all live by

No character thus far has had a better “glow-up” than Nancy Wheeler (portrayed by actress Natalia Dyer). In Season 3, the blue-eyed brunette swapped her signature “girl-next-door” strands for a voluminous, permed ‘do, one of the decade’s most defining styles. Though 2020 may not be the year of the perm’s return, hair height is on the rise (pun intended), which means it’s about time we stock up on touchable hairsprays, a good teasing comb, and a volumizing mousse.

4) Robin’s bob is seriously on-trend

Although we may take inspiration from Hawkin’s most iconic hairstyles, it’s highly unlikely that we would ask our stylist for a mirror replica of any of the character's haircuts. But that’s all changed since Robin (played by actress Maya Hawke) made her Scoops Ahoy debut in the Starcourt Mall. In addition to providing some major girl power alongside fellow high school classmate Steve Harrington, her stunning bob looks straight out 2019, complete with a cool, modern bend that strays far from the decade’s coveted "prom curls."

5) Joyce Byers disheveled bangs are kind of a look

If you’ve been on the fence about getting bangs, allow Mrs. Byers’ low maintenance fringe to provide you with some major peace of mind. After all, the mother of two (played by actress Winona Ryder) is too busy keeping her children away from The Upside Down to spend any significant time on her strands. To mirror Byers’ effortless look, simply blow-dry bangs flat, then apply a texturizing spray to damp strands before you head out the door.

6) The voluminous, high ponytail is officially back

While the “snatched” pony has been trending for a while now, thanks to A-listers such as Ariana Grande, Bella Hadid, and Kylie Jenner, the moment that Karen Wheeler (portrayed by actress Cara Buono) debuted her scorching-hot poolside look, she gave us all a reason to add volume to our favorite casual updo. The secrets to recreating the mom-approved style? A strong-hold hairspray and endless amounts of teasing (both at the roots and the base of the ponytail). Side note: Teasing of hunky high school bad boys-turned-Mind Flayer-possessed vessels definitely optional!
