Large gatherings may be on hold for 2020 but we are all wishing, hoping, thinking, and praying that the 2021 bridal season will be full of champagne wishes and white dress dreams. Whether your exchange of nuptials is shaping up to be short and sweet or glam and grand we are noticing a few consistent bridal trends for the upcoming year that fit every need.

Lived-in Sophistication

2020 was the year of letting go of our perfectly polished selves and finding a happy medium between casual and presentable...at least for Zoom calls. It’s no wonder that vibe has transferred to our bridal inspo. Clients are wanting to look more like a glammed-up version of their natural self. Enhancing natural waves, skipping the extensions, and working with natural textures instead of against them are all key factors inspiring brides this season. For these looks, we love to incorporate texture enhancing sprays both during the trying and finishing process.

Braided Beauty

Braids have been on trend for a while and that’s nothing new but 2021 brides seem to be inspired by renaissance length braiding with a deconstructed approach. Maybe it’s the lack of haircuts during quarantine or maybe it’s the lack of styling but clients are having rapunzel status length to play with and the results would make any knight drop to one knee. To help your clients maintain epic locks get them on a great at-home deep conditioner routine but have them stop a few days before the wedding so the braids will hold better.

Classic with a Twist

Every bridal season you can always count on a few brides who adhere to a classic approach. Clean polished volume, billowy curls, and a few soft twists will always be in style. This year even our smallest back yard weddings fostered a desire for refined glamour. Whether a ponytail, bun, or half up half down classic bridal locks always have their place. Boost your gorgeous styles with a strong hold hair spray and a mist of shine.

Throwback Tresses

Something about being stuck at home binge watching Netflix seems to have made people nostalgic for the 50’s 60’s and 70’s. These looks have translated right into the bridal inspo brides are bringing us. Bridget Bardotesque volume with roller set curls and a soft curtain fringe is bound to be THE look for 2021. To create these styles focus on your foundation. Blow-dry for max volume with root boosting products and set in rollers. Drop, recurl and set again. Then tease and style.

Grooming for the Groom

Another trend we love for 2021 is the addition of grooming bookings. With the current times making appointments and errands more difficult and with bridal parties being smaller - offering a full-service menu makes you all the more valuable. Grooms are loving getting a little cleanup and pamper before their big or small event. Beard trims, cleanups, and even a mini facial help the man of the day feel ready to say ‘I Do’.
