Everyone seems to have the look of LOVE in their eyes this season. Whether it’s residual feelings from Valentine’s Day or the uptick in peachy pastels from this year’s Pantone Color of the Year, we can’t help but fall head over heels for the season’s hottest shades. Taking our trends from fashion – floral had a huge influence this season. Prints and pastel shades also work wonders with a warmer palate. To showcase our favorite way to work with this movement we’ve rounded up some of our favorite floral shades of the season!

Petal pink may be one of the most asked for shades in the salon and it is no wonder with how much it has been blasted all over social media. It is a great way to literally wear your heart on your sleeve this season. For brunettes, consider adding this color in either as an underlying tone after highlights or with a peek-a-boo placement. For blondes, we love this as an all over shade or to add interest at the ends, roots and all throughout. Due to the fact that blondes are technically already “pre-lightened,” it makes it easy to customize their shade. Matrix SoColor Cult Rose Quartz + Coral Peach are a great way to add depth and interest to any pink!

Although ultra violet ruled the Pantone Color of the Year in 2018, we love are absolutely in love with the muted down version for 2019.  To get the look, on pre-lightened hair @hairstylistcarly used #ColorSyncWatercolors to get the look! This is a great transitional color for platinum clients who are looking for a subtle change that is still temporary. The great part about lavender shades are their ability to cancel out brassiness as they fade. To keep this color looking fresh, simply add Matrix Total Results Color Obsessed So Silver Purple Shampoo.

Lovely Lupin

The beauty that exudes from the lupin flower (and especially lupin fields) is a magnificent treat from nature! With their ombre effect in colors of orange and yellow to pink and purple, they give us inspiration for new creations! Take a peek at the #SoColorCult formula used by @sydneyannlopezhair to create this shade!

BASE: SoColor Cult Dusty Purple * Drop Royal Purple

MIDLENGTHS: SoColor Cult Dusty Purple

Marigold Tropicale

There is nothing quite like magenta and marigold yellow to transport us all into vacation mode. This rendition reminds us of a warm spring day with love wafting through the air – and maybe a Mai Tai in hand! Marigold has already been high on our list of shades we’ve been swooning over this season, but we had yet to see it paired with another shade we loved THIS much! The movement from roots to ends with a reprieve in the middle is the perfect placement to help this shade breathe life into the overall creation.
