Admittedly, this was a long winter. The month of January felt like it was a year long and as we waited for the groundhog to finally peek its little head out we retreated inside with sweaters and beanies. As the frost begins to melt, flowers have peaked their beautiful little heads and it is finally warm enough to strut our favorite spring fashion. After racking up an online shopping extravaganza, don’t forget that you’re going to need the styles and shades to go along with it. Keep reading to hear all about our favorite May shades to don with your most street worthy styles!

The Style: Neutrals From Head To Toe

Spotted at shows such as Burberry and Tom Ford, it appears as though head to toe neutrals are back and better than ever. This isn’t just your ordinary beige, it can be multi-tonal, layered and make sure to give a lot of love to accessorizing your best nude shades.

The Shade: Send Nudes & Neutrals

Slicked back styles were the top way to show off the neutral trend this season, but we also love neutral shades of all hues! Beigey blondes and brunettes are triumphant this season as they straddle the line between warm and cool!

The Style: Prints On Prints

The case has been made, and adored by many this season – intricate patterns and prints are everywhere. From paisley to polka dot, prints are louder than ever this season.

The Shade: Monochromatic

Whenever you’re wearing an outfit that is louder than life, you’ll want to tone down your hairstyle. Consider getting a toner to even out your highlights and give you a temporary all over single color. This doesn’t have to be boring either – opt for a pastel hue or bright and bold. By sticking with one shade all over it will make picking a pattern all the easier.

The Style: The Blues

Lady Gaga definitely knew something about what trends we would be seeing this spring when she waltzed down the Red Carpet donning baby blue from head to toe. This shade has been prevalent up and down the runway with designers from Alice + Olivia to Marc Jacobs.

The Shade: Pale To Powerful

There is nothing in the manual that says you have to perfectly match your blues, in fact, we love the idea of juxtaposing brights with paler shades. If you have a great deal of blue in your spring wardrobe, we suggest opting for cooler shades with your hue as to not combat these tones. Make your blonde extra icy and brunette deep and dreamy.

The Style: Vacay Mode

From jetsetting to safari-inspired styles, if there was one thing that has been on everyone’s mind this winter, it’s taking a vacation! Designers debuted more and more styles that went along with this notion with wearable looks and garments that travel well.

The Shade: Lived-In

If you know you’re going to be traveling often this year, opt for a low-maintenance shade with a lived-in look. Highlights that are a few shades lighter than your base, ombres, sombres and balayage are the way to go! If there is one thing we don’t want popping up in our vacation pictures it’s roots – so be sure to plan accordingly!
