mark turner is a believer in fate. as a young boy growing up in florida he was always drawn to ideas and possibilities. he found he had a knack for seeing something exquisite in somethng commonplace. as fate would have it his originality as a hair stylist caused his clients to seek his advice on their homes. with an interest in helping them see an imaginative solution to a design challenge, he was able to embark on the joy of creating with them beautiful interior spaces.
during his 35 year career as a stylist mark was one of the creators of the strokirk academy in chicago and later the izone space for sebastian international in los angeles. while in chicago he was the national creative director for elizabeth arden red door salon and also worked doing hair on the oprah winfrey show. later he served as creative director for the dada academy in new york. while there he did runway and print work including styling for the publications vogue,elle, harper's and interview. he has worked with naomi campbell, linda evangelista, cindy crawford and other celebrities.
in 2005 mark opened salon true in sherman oaks, california which was immediately selected by shu uemura as one of only two salons in los angeles to launch their new prduct line. gift certificates to salon true were also included in the grammy and oscar gift bags in 2006.
in 2012 mark was invited by loreal to be a stylist for a photo shoot in paris and shortly thereafter was selected to participate as a future trends visionary for a german beauty company. one stylist was selected from each continent to forecast innovation and industry direction. mark was selected as the visionary for north america.
