Damali Fils knew from the age of 14 that her passion was to be a hair stylist. Her motto is “you never know where you’re going, until you understand where you come from”. She comes from a small town and was raised by a hard working single mother. Growing up Damali’s passion for hair showed in her neighborhood as she styled family, friends and even her teachers’ hair. Although her first instinct was to pursue hair school following high school, her father convinced her to pursue her college degree. After pursuing and earning a degree in Business Management at The University of South Florida, she pursued her true passion of styling hair at Paul Mitchell the School. She excelled in cosmetology school as she volunteered for local fashion shows and photo shoots. After three years of exploring salon and attempting to find the right fit, Damali decided to open her very own salon. In October 2014 Damali opened her first salon, The Extension Suite, an upscale salon that specializes in hair extensions and custom made wigs. Damali’s years of working in the hair and beauty industry are due to her desire to make women look and feel confident. Damali's work can be seen on the everyday beauty as she strives to give them celebrity inspired looks. Her hard work and persistence has landed opportunities of working with celebrity stylist/artist such as Kim Kimble, Kiyah Wright, AJ Crimson and Lacy Redway. Humble beings in Avon Park, Fl has equip Damali with a hunger like no other to become one of the best in the hair and beauty industry. Damali currently lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband Christopher Fils. In her down time she enjoys reading, drawing and traveling.
