Accent braids are one of the easiest ways to add texture and glamour to your hair! They aren’t as complex as some complete braid styles like a Dutch Braid, Waterfall Braid, or even a Donut Braid. However, adding a little accent braid to a more simple hairstyle can elevate your look two times over!

If you’re wearing a traditional ponytail, beachy waves or your natural texture, consider having little fun with accent braids! What makes it even better is that these braids are attainable by anyone! All you need is a small section of hair, braid it into a standard three-strand braid, and incorporate it into your normal style or create a new one. Even some of your favorite celebrities have been spotted rocking accent braids this summer and going into fall. Here are some of our favorite accent braids to try out this fall!

Love Island’s Sophie Piper soaked up some Vitamin D in style! Of course, she could have opted to keep her hair down, but she went with the fashion-forward route, and added cute accent braids that pop more than her over-sized sun hat!

Front-facing accent braids are such a cute way to bring attention to your face and add flair to a classic look. Getting this look is easy! Begin by sectioning off an inch-wide section of the full front of your hair and tie off the remainder of the hair behind. Take your front section and part it in the middle.  Then braid each half separately and tie off with a small rubber hair tie. Once you’ve completed your braids, pull the back of your hair out of its hair tie and apply Redken Align 12 Protective Smoothing Lotion to keep your hair frizz-free and smooth throughout your day in the sun.

Rosalia gave us a look that is way too cute not to emulate! You would think bangs were enough to elevate your style, but when you combine scrunchy-tied ponytails and tiny accent braids, you’ve got yourself a look that is guaranteed to turn heads! The scrunchies give off major 90s vibes, while the pony an accent braids give off flirty and playful vibes. Since these accent braids aren’t sealed with rubber bands, you’ll want to secure them with a strong hold product like Redken Triple Take 32 Extreme High-Hold Hairspray

All we can say after seeing Doja Cat’s take of accent braids is WOW! Pairing tousled hair with multiple accents braids that are dazzled with jewels is almost beyond comprehension, but it is absolutely attainable!

Begin by parting your hair how you normally would, and grab random sections of hair from all around your hair. Braid each section and fasten. Then, grab your favorite braid accessory, like little hoops similar to Doja Cat, and work a couple into each braid. Once your braids are done, it’s time to tousle the rest of your hair. Use a power styling duo from to get perfectly tousled hair. One of the best duos for this is Redken Braid Aid 03 Defining Lotion.
