Not surprisingly, when the president of Spornette, Alan Sporn, publicly announced he was shaving his head, he captured our attention. Even better, is the reason behind the “Brush King’s” decision to lose his locks, raising money to fun children’s cancer research. Alan and the Spornette team are hoping to raise $1,000 for St. Baldrick's Foundation, to fund their efforts in the fight to end childhood cancer. So far, they have raised over half of their goal, with a little more than a week left to go until the big shave.
Spornette could not have chosen a better time to do this, as unfortunately, every 3 minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer. Staggering, but worse when you hear that in the United States, cancer kills more children than AIDs, Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis, Congenital Anomalies and Diabetes combined.
